Williby Roc’s, situated at Bilton Corridor in Jarrow, launched Adult Eco Craft workshops to help native residents develop new abilities that may assist people in living a more sustainable lifestyle.
The sessions focus on sustainable living and crafting everyday objects with pure materials to show how people can make their day greener.
Up to now, sessions have included refurbishing recycled jewelry, willow basket weaving, driftwood wall art and beeswax food wraps.
“The suggestions from the courses has been implausible and we’re over the moon that every workshop has been fully booked. We will constantly be adding new and thrilling workshops, so please keep an eye on our social media for updates.”
Educational Director at Williby Roc’s, Danielle Pollard, stated: “We love bringing people together and serving to them develop their skills. We need to upskill as many people as possible to make their own items, cleaning products, art and crafts for a more impartial and sustainable way of life.
The craft sessions look to provide an enjoyable and friendly approach for residents to cut back their environmental footprint and, also share a sense of achievement and satisfaction that comes with crafting.
Williby Roc’s environment group offers quite a few eco-friendly community initiatives in South Tyneside, all with the objective of being environmentally efficient and improving the areas’ environmental impact.
