As an idiosyncratic artist, Lady Gaga is taking the same strategy to her new make-up line – by launching it exclusively through Amazon.
The Oscar-winning songwriter’s Haus Laboratories will grow to be the first significant cosmetics brand to be launched by the online retail giant.
The deal means Lady Gaga’s first enterprise venture may have a worldwide reach from the outset.
Amazon will launch Haus concurrently in nine international locations in September.
They’ll include the UK, the US, Japan, France, and Germany.
In recent times, new beauty lines have chosen to bypass conventional bricks and mortar shops by launching online, together with Kylie Cosmetics, the range owned and run by Kylie Jenner that has helped make her a billionaire.
Commenting on the reason, she has chosen Amazon; Lady Gaga informed The Business of Fashion news website that some corporations would have needed her to tailor the brand to fit in with their corporate image.
“If it is not completely according to what they do… they’re going to be like, ‘Can you just change half of the equation?’. The reply isn’t any. No deal. No message of self-acceptance, no deal. [The deal with Amazon] was so great as a result of this was like, ‘Let’s make a deal, let’s make a deal to vary the world with their beauty.'”
Haus Laboratories is being backed by Lightspeed Ventures Partners, whose different investments include Goop, the “modern way of life brand” website owned by actress Gwyneth Paltrow.
Lady Gaga mentioned: “The very last thing the world wants is one other beauty brand… however, that is too bad.”
The product line, she stated, is aimed toward everyone. “It is said beauty is in the eye of the perceiver, however at Haus Laboratories we are saying beauty is how you see yourself.”
